DECLARATION

To Restore Our Nation by Defending Life

June 2021

We, the undersigned, make this Declaration remembering the God of our Fathers, and calling upon our Leaders to be strong and courageous to bring our nation back from the precipice of self-destruction by returning to God and defending the sacred gift of every child in the womb.

We remember the Mayflower Compact of 1620 and Founding Families who came “to plant the first Colony” in this Land “for the Glory of God, and the Advancement of the Christian Faith.”

We remember our national charter, the Declaration of Independence, through which we separated from Great Britain by the authority of the “the laws of nature of nature’s God . . . appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world.”

We remember that during the 1800s every State acted decisively to protect mothers and babies by prohibiting abortion.

We also remember our failures and the great costs to our nation, which continue today:

  • We acknowledge with sadness that we introduced slavery into our Land in 1619, and perpetuated its terrible existence for 246 years, violating our good national covenants and foundations.  Yet because there has been no nation-wide genuine repentance, racism continues today.

  • We acknowledge with sadness that 20 States authorized limited or on demand abortion before 1973, and then the U.S. Supreme Court arbitrarily approved abortion on demand in the Roe v. Wade case, imposing abortion on the entire nation.

Affirmation & Confession:  We, the undersigned affirm the Mayflower Compact, and the Declaration of Independence with its guaranteed protections of inalienable God-given rights.  We reaffirm all that is good in our heritage and resolve to protect the sacred gift of every human life and the right to life.  We believe that our nation is under the judgment of God for the multitude and magnitude of our personal and national sins, and for the massive innocent bloodshed across our Land.  We do not believe that our nation can be restored until we humble ourselves before God, confess what we have done, and end abortion and the shedding of innocent blood in our Land.

Challenge:  Therefore, we stand with our noble leaders in government, and challenge you to do your part, to do what we have entrusted you with authority to do.  We implore Members of Congress, Supreme Court Justices, and other leaders to:

  1. Remember and act decisively to protect and restore the noble purpose and good foundations of our nation;
  2. Remember the Declaration of Independence and United States Constitution, and act decisively to preserve and restore our national covenant, including full respect for the inalienable rights of every citizen to “Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness”; and
  3. Remember that a foremost purpose of civil government is to protect human life, and act decisively to protect the sacred gift of every child in the womb, and abolish abortion in the United States and all its territories.

We will pray for you to “be strong and courageous” (Joshua 1:9). Let us know how we can serve you in this noble endeavor to preserve our nation and human life.  “For the support of this Declaration, with a firm Reliance on the Protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our Sacred Honor” (Declaration of Independence).
